§7. Evaluation
The shows are viewed and evaluated from different points of view. The
evaluation of the performance begins when the dance floor is entered and ends when the last person leaves the stage.
SHOW / PERFORMANCE = 30%
The jury awards high scores for those performances that contain unique, original and
creative movements. In addition, the stage should be used extensively during the performance.
Creativity (20%):
The performance should be choreographed and presented in a unique way and
contain movements and combinations that are considered a distinguishing feature
of the respective crew and can only be found in the performance of this particular
crew. This also applies to the way the stage is entered
and exited, for changes in formation or the editing of the music. It is important to stand out
from the other crews and to be special, different and fresh.
Staging, use of space and formations (10%):
The crew should be able to design the space with a wide range of unique and
sophisticated formations and joint movements.
Skillz: The focus here is on how synchronously and dynamically the dancers
perform. An important point here is also the dance ability of the
dancers.
SKILLZ = (50%)
The jury evaluates the implementation and difficulty of the styles presented: Popping,
Locking, Breaking, Hip Hop, House, etc. The quality of the movements is taken into account here
during the performance. This includes the positioning of the arms,
legs and the entire body, the combinations on the different
levels as well as the synchronicity of the crew members and their musicality
Technique, level of difficulty of the performance (20%)
The level of difficulty of the performance is based on the skills presented by the crew members and the variety of styles contained in the performance.
measured. Here, consideration is given to how many of the crew members dare to tackle complex
choreographies and whether they succeed. In addition, it is evaluated
whether the crew members can also impress with a variety of different dance styles. Further points for the level of difficulty can be achieved by
all or most of the crew members using a difficult move and not
just a single crew member.
Implementation / Controlled Movements and Stabilization (10%)
The crew must maintain control over
speed, direction, momentum and the posture of their body throughout the performance.
Musicality (10%)
The performance and choreography should be designed to match the timing and
music selection and the crew should perform in sync with the music.
Movements that are performed to the simulated sounds of the crew members (e.g. stomping,
clapping, singing) during the absence of recorded music
are also evaluated according to the criterion of musicality and similarly
assessed.
Synchronicity / Timing (10%)
The movements of the crew members should be performed synchronously. Thus,
the movements, speed and timing should coincide simultaneously for all crew
members.
CHARISMA = 20%
Presence/Clothing (10%):
Presence refers to the ability of the crew members to present an authentic and
unrestrained representation of the dance. This includes the appearance,
the energy, the attitude and the style of the crew members. The clothing and
accessories of the crew members during the performance should represent and reflect the real,
authentic style and should also be presented with a
unique look that stands out from the other crews.
Entertainment value/audience impact (10%)
The crew members and their performance should be able to emotionally
appeal to the audience, so that reactions to the performance such as excitement,
joy, laughter, concern and/or drama are evoked.
Point deductions
The jury may decide to impose point deductions in certain cases if
the dancers do not adhere to the following criteria:
Provocative and offensive gestures, remarks or movements may lead to
point deductions or even disqualification.
The jury evaluates the respective fulfillment of the individual criteria based on a
score scale from 1 to 10. The highest score wins.
§8. Jury
The jury consists of renowned choreographers. The jury works in accordance with the
evaluation guidelines and competition regulations.
§9. Prizes
All placements will be awarded with certificates. The finalists will be
awarded with trophies.
